The inaugural Fan Fest Tuesday powered by Repco has successfully launched the Mount Panorama festivities ahead of the Repco Bathurst 1000 this weekend.
The Fan Fest, an extension to the almost week-long celebrations leading into Australia’s biggest motor race, attracted a large crowd to the city centre of Bathurst, hosting a variety of activities, including driver signings, giveaways, markets and displays – on the ground and in the air.
The event was headlined by a major giveaway, courtesy of Kelso’s BBQ Galore, where one fan walked home with a brand-new BeefEater BBQ – just by being at the Fan Fest.
Other attractions included the Airtime FMX freestyle motocross team, giving Bathurst race goers a taste of some incredible aerial acrobatics.
A joint venture between Repco, Supercars and the Bathurst City Council, Fan-Fest Tuesday was held in the heart of Bathurst, led by Repco ambassador Gary Reid awarded winners, and proved a successful addition to the build-up to Australia’s biggest race.
The festivities is just the start of Repco’s commitment to fan involvement with The Great Race, with activities happening both on top and down below of the mountain.
Fan Fest Tuesday has set the tone for a big lead-in to the Repco Bathurst 1000 Street Party on Wednesday, October 8 headlined by the Track to Town parade of all 27 Supercars entries, the PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge and all-in driver signing session.
Practice begins on Thursday, followed by qualifying on Friday, the Top 10 Shootout on Saturday and The Great Race – the Repco Bathurst 1000 – on Sunday.
