Gambling and sports betting aren’t for everyone, and if you don’t mind a flutter, do it responsibly.
However, when the team at The Repco Garage debated who will win the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship, the team was divided.
The one thing the betting markets can tell us, though, is that the cream is rising to the top … and they all drive Fords.
Current championship leader and 2025 runner-up Broc Feeney is favourite at the tote, with Sportsbet listing the Red Bull Ampol Racing driver at $2.70.
Feeney sits narrowly ahead of Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Brodie Kostecki at $3.25 while Matt Payne at $4.40.
Feeney’s position is no surprise. He opened the season with two wins at Sydney, where he and Payne left tied on points, before adding another victory at Albert Park.
Payne has been the biggest mover in the early year markets. A February betting preview had him at $5.50 with Dabble, and in the opening three events, he proved consistent on track, though he didn’t challenge for wins.
His qualifying pace at Christchurch, however, resulted in a victory, placing him back inside the top three with most agencies. And there’s good reason for that, too. The reigning Bathurst 1000 champion has the best qualifying average among the leading trio after 13 races.
But you simply can not write off Kostecki who remains the danger.
The Shell Ford star has the most wins among the top three, he was the betting market leader after Taupō, and is priced closely enough to suggest bookmakers see this as more than a Feeney runaway.
Ryan Wood, Kai Allen and Cam Waters are next in the markets, and while they sit almost 200 points behind title leader Feeney, we must remember that once we get past the Repco Bathurst 1000 in October, the championship’s second finals series will kick off.
And if we learned anything from 2025, all bets will be off …
