Who’s qualified for the Supercars Finals

The Repco Bathurst 1000 marked the end of the race for the Supercars Finals.

After a close fight for the last of the Finals spots, the 10 drivers to qualify have been confirmed highlighted by six Ford representatives, plus two each for Chevrolet and Toyota.

Following the events of Bathurst, the points have been reset including the rewarding of drivers to win the Repco Sprint and Ryco Enduro Cups.

Current championship leader Matt Payne enters the Finals following an underwhelming Bathurst campaign, but he has been the highlight this season despite losing the Repco Sprint Cup in heartbreaking circumstances.

Payne’s mechanical problem in the final race of the Repco Sprint Cup allowed Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Broc Feeney to successfully defend the title. With this win came an extra 25-points for Feeney leaving just five between he and Payne heading to the Gold Coast.

Feeney’s teammate Will Brown has enjoyed a great return to form since the restrictor saga was solved and with a bonus 25-points for locking up the Ryco Enduro Cup has moved into third.

Now a two-time Bathurst winner, Brodie Kostecki sits fourth holding a 30-point margin back to Cam Waters following a lacklustre Bathurst for Monster Castrol Racing.

Anton De Pasquale’s failure to finish Bathurst not only was a heartbreaker on the day, but also lowered his security in the Finals ranking by sitting just nine-points clear of the knock out positions.

Walkinshaw TWG Racing’s Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood are both in the knock out zone after individual incidents at the Mountain.

Jack Le Brocq won a four-way battle for the last Finals spot to mark Matt Stone Racing’s first appearance.

Outside of this, any of the drivers in Finals to win a race automatically makes it to the next round and the bottom three at the end of the Gold Coast will be eliminated.
