The traditional Repco Bathurst 1000 morning warm up hosted minimal drama as the Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Will Brown and Scott Pye led the way heading into the Great Race.
Used by the teams as a pre-event systems check completing pit stops including driver swaps, brake changes, fuel and tyres making the session not about speed, but rather procedure.
Set to start the main event from 12th, Brown set a 2m 05.169s to lead the session from Penrite Racing’s Kai Allen and Dale Wood by 0.026s.
James Golding and David Russell’s PremiAir Racing Camaro was third from Anton De Pasquale in the DEWALT Racing Chevrolet shared alongside Harri Jones.
Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Broc Feeney was fifth, with co-driver Jamie Whincup not taking part in the session as TRADIE Energy Racing’s David Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth followed.
R&J Batteries Racing duo Andre Heimgartner and Declan Fraser were seventh ahead of the Mobil 1 Optus Racing pair of Chaz Mostert and Fabian Coulthard, while Macauley Jones was ninth in the Pizza Hut Racing Camaro to be shared by Jordan Boys.
Completing the top 10 was the Brad Jones Racing entry of Bryce Fullwood and Brad Vaughan.
Zak Best in the Team Blanchard Racing Mustang pushed a little hard across the top at McPhillamy Park to end up in the gravel trap, but recovered to finish the session.
Another to be pushing hard was Ryan Wood as he touched the wall softly at The Grate.
Up next is the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 beginning at 11:45am.
